Given the perishability of records and limited access to the latter, West Bengal State Archives undertakes program of publication on a regular basis as a measure of raising archival awareness among people at large. It was initiated by the Imperial Record Department as early as 1891. Publication of records has received a lot of support from IHRC and the National Archives of India under the Scheme of Financial Assistance. During the last few years the State Archives of West Bengal has brought out several important publications that have sold out in significant number. So far the State Archives has thirteen major publications to its credit. The journal, The State Archives Review was published in 2004. A booklet, A Tribute to Mentor was published on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of Professor N.K.Sinha (1903 -1974) in 2004.
