Reproduction of records is done basically for archival preservation and for supplying copies of records to the scholars on payment. The Reprography Unit of the Directorate of State Archives normally uses three reproductive methods viz. microfilming, photocopying and digitization. In recent years however, digitization has been adopted by the State Archives extensively for preserving archival records and for electronic data sharing.
